Hello everyone!
Today, I'd like to introduce a super enjoyable and simple activity for the entire family: Indoor Mini Golf!
If you have spare Amazon boxes lying around the house, like many families do, setting up this activity for the kids is a piece of cake. I gave it a try with my little ones one weekend, and they had a blast. It kept them entertained for a good hour.
Here's what you'll need:
Cardboard box - medium to large in size
Markers - any colors, including black
Kids' Golf Clubs and Balls
We had this set at home, and it worked perfectly for this activity: https://amzn.to/3X7VphW (Affiliate Link)
Funky items for course decoration (optional)
We utilized these Dino Magna-tiles that the boys received for Christmas: https://amzn.to/3Tb1BV3 (Affiliate Link)
To begin, set up your Target Golf Box for scoring points. For an added challenge, try switching things up by altering the sizes of the holes. Assign a distinct color to each hole and allocate points to them accordingly at the top.
Now, search for entertaining obstacles to incorporate into your course. We used Magna-tiles, which were a big hit! While our two-year-old enjoyed knocking them down, our four-year-old put in a lot of effort to maneuver through the tunnels. Another suggestion is to create tunnels with construction paper and masking tape. Simply cut the paper into strips, tape the ends to the ground, and there you have it - tunnels!
It's game time! Each child takes turns navigating the course, with a rule of 3 attempts per turn. Passing through a tunnel earns 5 extra points. Keep track of points on a whiteboard easel or a piece of paper.
This game is not only entertaining but also educational. It aids in coordination, color recognition, and counting. It encourages teamwork, patience, and quality family time. The best part is that you can tailor it to suit your family. Adjust the rules according to your kids' ages, decorate it as you like, and even involve older kids in creating the activity.
I hope you all have a great time!
Warmest wishes, Christy
